UNICO is our nation's largest Italian-American Service Organization. Our objectives are to promote and enhance the Image of Italian Americans; for members to be of service to the community; to promote Italian heritage and culture; to promote, support and assist charitable, scientific, cultural, educational, and literary projects; to promote members' interest in public welfare; and, to cooperate with others in civic, social and cultural development.  

UNICO, translated from Italian, means “unique” or “only one of its kind.”  Additionally, the letters represent: U – Unity 

N – Neighborliness

 I – Integrity 

C – Charity 

O - Opportunity  

  The applicant must have the following qualifications:  

· At least 25% Italian

· A resident of Hillsborough, NJ

· Plan to continue her education

· Between the ages of 17 to 25 years old

· Must learn the Motto and purpose of UNICO and be comfortable speaking in public

· Attend the Hillsborough Rotary Fair Special Needs Day, August 20, 2022

· Attend the John Basilone Parade in Raritan, Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022

· Attend Comedy Night Fundraiser

· Attend Annual Golf Outing

Upon completion of her duties, Miss UNICO will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
